The widgets are a big plus for the self-hosted side (I am envious of the "armory" sidebars that everyone has) plus the coolness of your own domain. Um... bigger storage, but I doubt you have a problem with that. Themes are a biggie too. I guess I can't really think of cons other than cost for self-hosted sites. Besides needing to know what you're doing so you don't break anything. wp.com is pretty foolproof. I hope you get more constructive comments :) You know, I’m on the fence about this myself.
